Gas Cylinder Safety

Gas cylinders come in many different colours, ranging from red, to pink, blue, green, grey, and even combinations of colours. So, what is really in them?

To be safe, do not go and guess what is in the gas cylinder.

Instead identify the gas by means of the label and/or fitted collar. In our business of compressed gas safety, all too often we come across cases where mistakes have been made over the identification of gases.

If one of your cylinders has not got a label, or is wrongly labelled, do not use it. Isolate it, and return it to the supplier.

However, if you want to know how to store, handle, use, or transport your gas cylinders, safely and correctly, satisfying legal and insurance requirements, contact us.

Teksol Gas Safety Training has launched new gas safety workshops designed to equip you with the know-how to be safe with gas cylinders in the workplace. (The gas cylinders in the photo, despite their differing colours, have got exactly the same gas in them, but this in only known by reading their labelling!). Stay safe!
